Description: La granja de Trepsi is one of two videos out of the Centro de Estimulación y Desarrollo Infantil, which is a center dedicated to the stimulation of emotional and cognitive development in early childhood through music and other activities. Trepsi is a clown that invites us to accompany her to the farm to see the animals, learn what they are like and what sounds they make, as well as what products they give us. This information is presented through songs, short skits, and video of children interacting with the animals. Our Comments: This is an unusual video for American audiences, so our experience has been that while parents do not necessarily love this video at first sight, their young children do, and increasingly so after repeated viewings. It is aimed at the very youngest of children, from 12 months to 3 years, and is very educational for that age range. It has the feel of a home video, with lots of footage of other young children and farm animals, interspersed with songs. The songs are wonderful, and are also available on the Trepsi music CDs, which we recommend as a way for parents to support and participate in Trepsi with their children. |
