Country of origin: Mexico Description: Los colores de Trepsi is one of two videos out of the Centro de Estimulación y Desarrollo Infantil, which is a center dedicated to the stimulation of emotional and cognitive development in early childhood through music and other activities. Trepsi is a clown that wakes up and has no color; she and everything else is white. She is very sad and angry, and we accompany her on her quest to regain her missing colors, one by one. The colors are presented through songs, short skits, and video of children interacting with the various colors. Our Comments: This is a well-done educational and entertaining video that teaches the colors and other vocabulary through song and skits. It is aimed at young children, from 12 months to 3 years, but is entertaining even for parents. It has somewhat the feel of a home video, with lots of footage of young children and the adults of the educational center, interspersed with song after song. The music is wonderful, and is also available on the Trepsi music CDs, which we recommend a way for parents to support and participate in Trepsi with their children. This product receives a very high recommendation from Bilingual Journey, in particular for the family in which Spanish is spoken by at least one family member. |
