Bilingual: Spanish/English word list at the end of the book Bilingual Journey´s Age Recommendation: 5 years and up Description: This is an 8 ¼”x 11” softcover book of sopa de letras, or word-search games. There are 24 word searches included, and each one is based around a vocabulary theme (body parts, professions, food, etc.) Black & white illustrations of each of the hidden words is given, with the word written in Spanish. This book can also be used as a coloring book. The answers to each of the puzzles is included at the end of the book, as well as a complete list of all the words with English translations. Our Comments: Spanish Search-A-Word Picture Puzzles was originally designed for English-speaking students of Spanish, and it works well towards this purpose, however, it is equally good for native Spanish speakers. It is the only source of sopa de letras that we are aware of, and it is a fun way for Spanish-speaking children to reinforce vocabulary, reading, and spelling skills in Spanish. |
